Overview
CD/DVD Emulator DTL-T14000 uses a hard disk drive in the
Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation®2 Development
Tool DTL-T10000 to create and test a PlayStation®2 CD
or DVD image. You can duplicate the directory and file hierarchy
that you want on your CD or DVD gold disc. The CD/DVD Emulator
uses software which accesses standard CD/DVD libraries and
accurately simulates the seek times and data access speeds
of a CD/DVD mechanism, so you get an accurate picture of how
your gold CD or DVD will behave when it is finally cut.
Includes
The hardware is factory-fitted in your PlayStation®2
Development Tool DTL-T10000 directly by Sony Computer Entertainment.
Software to control the emulator and manage images is supplied
in both Microsoft Windows and Linux formats.
Features and Benefits
Click on any of the features below to see the benefits it
will provide:
- Dedicated CPU
and HDD for emulation.
The CD/DVD Emulator DTL-T14000 consists of a
factory-fitted emulation server running on the Linux PC
within the PlayStation®2 Development Tool DTL-T10000.
Using a large-capacity hard-drive within the unit you
can create multiple images.
- Full CD/DVD format
emulation support
The CD/DVD Emulator DTL-T14000 provides full
support of the ISO9660 and UDF format. Create images of
both CD-ROM and DVD-ROM discs, and now also the Dual-layer
DVD format.
- Complete hardware
timing emulation
All hardware timings are emulated, including
emulation of CLV and CAV data transfer modes. The CD/DVD
Emulator DTL-T14000 uses actual CD/DVD libraries, so you
can reliably test whether critical data runs at the expected
rate.
- Automatic image
synchronization
The host software will monitor the files on the
target and the host, and update the image whenever a component
file has changed. See how a code change effects your game
almost instantly.
- CD/DVD Explorer
software
The Image Explorer software is provided for managing
the creation of images. It allows you to view an image and
modify its properties. You can also collect and order sets
of files to make up one or more CD or DVD images.
- Export as .CCZ
(CDVDGen) format
When you are happy with an image, you can save
it in .CCZ format for burning with CDVDGen software, ready
for QA and submission.
- Software for
emulating the DVD drive mechanism itself
The emulator provides a transparent interface
between your code and the CD/DVD hardware. When not in emulation
mode, the real CD/DVD-ROM drive is fully accessible. Using
the software you can quickly test whether the code interfaces
correctly with the CD/DVD-ROM mechanism, and be certain
that it will perform the exact same way on the retail units.
- Software selectable
emulation mode from the host
Easily turn emulation on or off using the provided
software. The software also provides real time feedback
of emulation status.
